Two Brenner Trainees take top Places at the Baden-Württemberg Catering Industry’s Youth Championships
At the German Hotel and Restaurant Association Youth
Championships staged by the Baden-Württemberg Catering Industry no
less than two candidates from Brenner's Park-Hotel & Spa
occupied the first two places among restaurant service personnel:
Christian Köhle grabbed the coveted first place whilst Siegfried
Marko finished runner-up.
Both trainees took part with success in the Baden-Baden local
championships at the beginning of this year. Christian Köhle, who
hails from an old-established hotelier family from the hinterland
of Lake Constance, will take part in the national youth contest at
the Petersberg near Bonn at the end of 2010 both as an individual
competitor as well as part of the Baden-Württemberg regional
team.
Around 150 up-and-comers from the hotel industry and gastronomy participated at the competition held in Bad Überkingen on May 20 and 21, 2010. "The outstanding level of training in the catering branch in the region became apparent yet again during these championships," commented DEHOGA president Peter Schmid after the competition.
Frank Marrenbach, the managing-director of Brenner's Park-Hotel & Spa, underlined that "never before have so many young people put themselves forward at this competition, whose standards were up to those required for the final examination. I am all the more delighted that two of our trainees emerged as the best in restaurant service. I'm proud of our youngsters… and of the members of staff within our House, who are responsible for introducing our up-and-coming youngsters involved in gastronomy to all the ins and outs of hospitality at the highest level".
