Brenners Park-Restaurant among Germany's top 50

02-11-2008

Andreas Krolik, the Head Chef in the Brenners Park-Restaurant at Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa attended the "Kulinarische Auslese" major gastronomical event in Frankfurt. He went there to receive a coveted certificate on behalf of the Gourmet Restaurant: the Brenners Park-Restaurant finds itself placed among the 50 best in the country for the first time on the 2008 Hornstein List.

The verdict: Brenners Park-Restaurant is numbered among the 50 best in Germany as "first-class, outstanding and extremely well classified restaurants".

"To enter the Top 50 in a single step from place 100, according to Frank Marrenbach, the Managing-Director of Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa "is truly fantastic confirmation of our work!"

The "Kulinarische Auslese" was awarded for the ninth time this year; the gastronomic hitlist bears the name of its founder, Wolf von Hornstein. The results of famous restaurant guides are collated here to establish rankings. As far as the ratings for Germany are concerned, the assessments provided by Michelin, Gault Millau, Varta, Schlemmer Atlas and Feinschmecker are taken into consideration.

With its summary of various conclusions reached by jurors and its lucidity, the "Kulinarische Auslese" is regarded as a practical work of reference for top gastronomy apart from aiding gourmets to find certain restaurants

Andreas Krolik: "The event at "Witzigmann & Roncalli Bajazzo" in Frankfurt was extremely festive; whoever mattered in gastronomy was present. Altogether more than 80 stars and 500 invited guests turned up in the Bajazzo. It was a great experience for me to exchange views with 3-star award winning Chefs as well as to meet some old colleagues from Austria for instance, some of whom cooked alongside me at Brenners as guest chefs. It makes us feel very good that we here at the Brenners Park-Restaurant have arrived in the top 10 together with restaurants that have been in business a great deal longer than us. In this way, the consistency of our quality and the continuous improvement of the evaluations that we have experienced, are acknowledged."
