History of Brenner's Parkvilla

In the mid 1920s, Kurt Brenner crowned his hotel complex with the "Villa Knorring" which stood in extensive parkland between two hotels: "Brenner Hotel Stephanie" and "Brenner's Kurhof". This building was later transformed into the "Kasino Stephanie", which became the glamorous focal point of high society in Baden-Baden.

At the beginning of the 1950s, when the hotel was still under the management of Alfred Brenner, Kasino Stephanie was redesigned, extended and renamed "Park Villa".

Baden-Baden, 15th February 1962: preliminary talks preceding the Franco-German Friendship Treaty. Guests of state resided in the Park Villa. Since this date, a milestone on the road towards a united Europe, Brenner's has also been affectionately dubbed the "Cradle of Europe."

At the end of the 1960s, Park Villa underwent a three-year expansion programme; in 1989 the Park Villa Penthouse was upgraded into the "Presidential Suite", which was designed by the highly respected interior designer, Countess Birgit Douglas. Her knowledge of the history of art and culture and her unmistakable taste were, and still are, the most important foundations in the art of furnishing and design.
