Simply because of their versatility and the inspiration they offer, I do visit all exhibitions at the Museum Frieder Burda. And just in time for the summer to start we are welcomed by a colorful exhibition: "Emil Nolde. The Splendor of Colors".
The exhibition starts on June 15 and can be seen until October 13, 2013. Emil Nolde as one of the most important artists of Expressionism, was convinced: "Colors were a joy to me, and I felt as if they loved my hands". Just as I do, dive into this world of colors, feel the joy and get inspired...
You will experience his complex life by watching his artworks. The colorful paintings testify his affinity with nature and his search for primal human states. During your visit expect images of people, religious motifs, as well as impressions of his journey to the South Sea. Fascinating flowers in bright colors, romantic, wide landscapes or dramatic sea views...
The museum architecture by New-York based architect Richard Meier emphasizes this issue and the connection between art and nature very strongly through the large windows and the close proximity of the building to nature.
And if you have not done it yet, you should soon visit Baden-Baden's colorful "Museum Mile" on the Lichtentaler Allee!
